About

William Brown is a Boston-based lighting designer for theatre and dance. He is also a MFA Lighting Design Candidate at Boston University. Lighting has been a passion of his from a young age while growing up in Austin, TX and he continues to be excited by the many uses of theatrical lighting. William enjoys collaborating with other artists and technicians to tell stories that explore what it means to be human and how humans interact within their society and how it simultaneously changes and remains similar throughout history. Projects that especially interest him are those that merge art with technology to draw the audience into the world and emphasize key emotional moments of the story. This summer, William is a Lighting Design Fellow at the Hangar Theatre. William holds a BFA in Production Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.
